She quickly moved up the ranks, beginning with roles in children's theater and then performing before an audience of thousands. As Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of a Philadelphia 76ers game when she was 11 she had already begun writing songs. After that, she began playing guitar. Swift created original music inspired by the country music of artists like Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks) and Dixie Chicks. Her material reflected Swift's experiences with tweens and the feeling of alienation. Swift's family relocated to Tennessee from Pennsylvania at the age of 13, so that she would have longer pursuing the country music label in Nashville.
